A New Era for Nigeria’s Oil & Gas Industry
As a new dawn is on the horizon for the Nigerian oil and gas industry, many questions remain unanswered. Over the past four months, the NOG management team have been engaging with Government and industry stakeholders to define the agenda for the next phase of the industry, and your questions include:


  • What are the current administration’s priorities for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry?
  • What shape will the PIB take, if indeed it remains?
  • How will policy attract much needed investment into the industry?
  • What further restructuring will NNPC undergo and how will this impact the sector?
  • How can policy create a larger gas market?
  • What are the plans to increase refining capacity?

Offshore Roustabout and Roughneck Jobs

Roustabouts The  Roustabout job  is the most common entry level occupation for an oil rig’s marine section. Most new hires in the Drilling and Marine Sections start out as Roustabouts. A Roustabout is typically an inexperienced worker who works as a trainee or helper for those in more senior positions. This position is comparable to the Able-bodied Seaman on board a ship. The  Roustabout  will assist with a variety of work, typically unskilled , which might include maintenance, cleaning rust removal, painting, or learning to direct the huge cranes on board.
